Townsend/ Cades Cove Gateway Alliance, Little River Watershed Association, Tremont Institute, and Keep Blount Beautiful all benefit from the gathering that happens at the Peaceful Side Brewery and Craft Kitchen. Everything about Townsend has a different feel……

Townsend is very outdoorsy and full of opportunities to enjoy the Smoky Mountains and area. Most know that the Townsend Wye and Cades Cove are both located in Townsend. You can connect to Townsend from Gatlinburg through Little River Road, you can connect to Townsend from Pigeon Forge on Wears Valley Road.  Each is a fantastic drive, beautiful in its own right. Another way to really enjoy your trip to Townsend is to connect to the Foothills Parkway from Wears Valley Road and enjoy the beautiful views to Walland, Tennessee and then come back through into Townsend. Known to locals as The Missing Link, this connection was generations in the making and was finally opened recently.

Cycling is the main activity in Townsend, Tennessee. Both Wednesdays and Saturdays are reserved for Bikers to enjoy time in Cades Cove with bikes only. Multiple bike trails through the beautiful community make biking a fantastic way to see the sights in Townsend. Local bike rentals are available throughout the town and at the base of Cades Cove. There is a shuttle available from the Townsend Visitor’s Center to Cades Cove so you can park and ride with ease. Discover cycling in Tennessee.
